A North Carolina man is doing time for rape charges after a little girl more than 20 years younger than him gave birth to his child.
Juan Martinez-Hernandez, 35, was arrested, shortly after a 14-year-old girl's family called police and paramedics to an apartment in Charlotte after she gave birth in an apartment bathroom.
Martinez-Hernandez, was placed under arrest after the girl identified him as the father of the infant.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokeswoman, Officer Jessica Lawrence, told the Charlotte Observer that Hernandez lived in the same apartment complex as the female victim.
Police said the girl told officers that she had sex with Martinez 'on several occasions'.
When they questioned Hernandez, he admitted to his sexual encounters with the girl.
The Observer reported that Hernandez has a prior criminal record in South Carolina, but is not listed on the state's sex offender registry.
Hernandez was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child and four counts of statutory rape.
Cops would not say why they weren’t called until after the girl gave birth, and not when she first became pregnant.
Jail officials say Juan Martinez-Hernandez, who is believed
to be in the country illegally, had run afoul of
police and immigration agents before, following a 2010
drunken driving arrest.

to immigration agents in 2010 and the rape or HOW he was
not deported. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
officials couldn’t be reached for comment.

In July 2010, Hernandez was charged with driving while

According to jail records, an immigration hold was placed on

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rush said he was processed through
the 287g program then. The program, which has been used
at the Mecklenburg jail since 2006, allows jailers to identify
suspected illegal immigrants and begin
